We're Tri-Cities Bound!

Okay, we're not quite Tri-Cities Bound YET, but we will be soon. I'm just putting up the announcement now, so that we'll have a chance to make plans to meet up with all our friends and family over there!

So here's the deal: We're going to leave here around noon on Friday, August 1st, which puts us in the greater Tri-Cities area around 5:00... The only firm plans we're hoping to stick to, is that I really want to see Lisa play in the orchestra for the Smokey Robinson concert on Saturday the 2nd. Other than that, we would LOVE to have as much fun as we possibly can with all the great people of Pasco and Kennewick... (does anybody even live in Richland these days??)

We're looking forward to this trip, and hopefully on Monday the 4th we'll have tons of stories and pictures to put up!

Let's Play!!

  1. Good point about Richland, Dad. We have at least two relatives in both Pasco and Kennewick, but Richland is NADA. Did anyone you know (or knew) live in Richland a long time ago?

  2. You guys are going to be very busy here with family for sure. You have so much family here. I always say they have their own ward. Alison lives in Richland. I know that.

Have fun and wave to me in Pasco.

I said that we wanted to see family AND FRIENDS!! You definitely qualify in the FRIENDS category!!

We will hopefully do better than waving as we pass by... =)

  4. OK, I think we should all get togather with Jan. I think I might just call her and plan something....hmmm.....yes, I definately must.

About good old Smokey....bad news....he CANCELLED on me! The nerve :)

Something about the conductor not coming and they had to cut the orchestral part of the show....bummer. I was really looking forward to the experience (and the easy cash). Oh well, maybe the next time he is in our neck of the woods.

Do you need a place to stay?? Our doors are always open to you :)

  6. WOO HOO!! You guys are finally coming. I do expect you to be here for a bar B Que sometime. And Mike, Shame on you for not pointing out to Andy that Grandma and Grandpa Brinkerhoff lived in Richland. In fact long long ago in two cities far far away. We only ever went to Pasco and Richland. It's funny to remember that way back when I was YOUNG enough to still be under mom and dad's roof, that Kennewick was an anomaly to me. I knew that it excisted but I had never been there and I knew nothing about it. And now it has been my home for most of 31 years and it is my favorite of the Tri.

  7. It's all settled then....you're staying at our place! How many of you can come? Everyone? Let me know so I can figure out where everyone can sleep :)

    It's PARTY time!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. I hope you will still come despite Lisa's bad news about the Smokey concert. You should drive your family past G&G Brinkerhoff's (now unrecognizable) house on 703 Smith. I actually go by there frequently since it is very near our church.

  9. We are definitely still coming!! In fact, without the concert, it just leaves more time for fun family and friends times!

Lisa, thank you SO MUCH for your offer! We will have at least the six of us, and maybe Chelsey, depending on her work schedule... She starts at Fred Meyer tomorrow!!!

Janice, I was actually thinking about going by the G&GB'hoff house last time we were over there, but there was construction that made getting off at their exit a nightmare...

We are really excited to see all of you!!

  10. I go by the old 703 Smith house quite often. And almost every time I get choked up. The basic structure is still there, the front porch is still there, the windows are the same and the original front door and the black metal railings are still there. Oh yeah, and Grandma's beloved trumpet vines are still crawling up the side of the house. But in every other way the house is completely changed for me. I get homesick every time I see it. It may have been a very simple place, and it was by no means a showplace, Grandma really didn't have much of a clue when it came to interior design but to me it was one of the finest houses in the whole world. Oh crap now I think I'm going to cry.
